My creative space...

Not a lot of creating, or SPACE, around these parts at the moment. I'm embarking on a long-term 'clutter overhaul project' (not so much decluttering as thoughtful recluttering), and the precious snatches of time I get to myself sans boys are being spent on finding new homes for things, sorting notions, folding fabrics, and dreaming about the big picture. I'm itching to get the sewing machine out again but just can't do it until some of the chaos subsides.

So my creative outlet this week has been this old corkboard. Previous home to uninspiring shopping lists, timetables and the like. Now home to some of the cherished bits and pieces I've found on my clutter travels, and awaiting more rediscovered finds as I continue. Propped on the kitchen bench near the computer, it's providing a little burst of creativity as I go about the endless mundane activities that are pressing all around.

Creative spaces c/o kootoyoo... go and have a peek.

  1. I do love your inspiration board, I think they can help keep up the mojo when the mundane things of life housework etc get in the way of creativity!!! loved your last few posts too

  2. You're inspiring me to get my inspiration board back up and running. It was great until I took it to pin my brooches on at the markets... will have to steal it back, I think! Look forward to seeing more of your inspiration. Cheers, Lucy

  4. I like that despite the de-clutter, you've still managed to squeeze in something creative just for yourself. Good for you!

  6. Inspiration is more likely to strike in a clean well sorted environment. Ha ha, who am I kidding! It's more likely to strike when I can't find something I need in my mess! I love the board. I use a little houseshaped shadow box filled with little things for my inspiration.

  10. I should get inspired to clear of my corkboard (used for long term storage of photos, bits & bobs)....but I probably will forget about it tomorrow!

Love those postcards with text over old photos....I have one on my board that has a 50's lady standing in front of a laden fridge with the text "make your own damn dinner".....perhaps I should clear the board off a bit as no-one seems to be paying attention to this particular message!

  13. Tell that sewing machine it will just have to be a little bit patient. They are just so demanding, aren't they?!

Good to get the other stuff done first, and without having to rush. All in good time...

  15. I dream of sorting out all of my clutter! It just calls for making a mess before the mess gets sorted. I am great at making mess, just not as good at sorting it out! Thanks for visiting my blog. Love the cork board!
