My creative space...

Move along folks. Nothing to see here...
Only 14 hours until my Beloved is home after almost 2 weeks. So close to the end... and I've completely run out of steam. I think I peaked too early; all things domestic, child-rearing and creative have fallen in a heap.

Was this ever MY bedroom? I don't remember...

The WIP corner of the living room is out of control...

Yesterday's dishes - well actually, the day before's...

The only thing going strong in this house is the Life Support Machine (aka the Atomic)

Single parents,
Military wives,
Corporate widows...
I salute you.
Not much creativity or space at my house today, but I'd love to see yours. Drop over to Kirsty's house(s!) to play along with creative spaces today.

  1. I'm with you on the salute.

The first couple of days when my date's away I think..."it'd be easier without him" by Day 4 I'm just about beside myself.

The little folk seem to be quite creative with the bed gymnastics. x

  9. I'm a mining wife. 12 days on my own and then 9 days his home. And yes I too start to crash on the home stretch. Even after doing it for years!
The reunions make it all worth while ;) Enjoy your weekend! xox

  11. Why is it that the closer the end gets, the slower the minutes go by? I'm impressed you've survived nearly 2 weeks single parenting. That is a HUGE achievement. And made a ridiculously amazing birthday cake, too!

    Enjoy his return.

  12. Putting my hand up for the third option - corporate widow here. In my books you have totally succeeded because not only are those kids ALIVE but they are HAPPY! Bonus! You have complete permission to fall into a blubbering heap once the Mr gets home xxxxx

  13. He he he, see i have children who judge, so i can't get away with that anymore!! I have 17 days to go until my husband is home to say good bye for 6 months, boo hoo. We're already up to 40 days apart this year - i know, the year is that old already. Deep breath, but look at home much sewing i'm getting done. You've done so well, cuddles to your little one, love Posie

  14. Oh well done to you Gina - two weeks - that's hard work.
I'm about to have four nighs and am already wondering how to keep my sanity! Will be rolling the mantra - Keep Calm - around in my head!

  15. My hat's off to you! I totally crumble when Huz leaves the nest for any length of time beyond one night!! Even then I'm not happy... Looks like the small peeps are happy and that's all that matters. Wishing you a lovely, relaxing weekend and a cleaning faerie to come and take care of the boring stuff. x

  17. You poor thing I struggle to stay sane for one or two nights without Dan's help. It sounds like your doing a great job your kids look happy and that's the main thing. I must say I'm a little jealous of your coffee machine, it sounds like something every household should have.

  21. Some dumb computer problem as I can only see the first photo. I'm thinking though I get the idea of whats going on. I had my first night last night without baby and without husband. And I did absolutely nothing. Nothing. And I had a great time. :)
Again, I'm not wearing any shoes...

  22. unfortunately I also can only see the first picture. But I think I can guess what the rest must look like. I have similar images in my mind from times when I had to do it alone for a while. Didn't take pictures though, so I can still pretend I'd do fine on my own *cough*

It always is harder in the last days, isn't it? The first days I always think I am doing really well, maybe even better than when he's there. But then slowly I get tired. And when it's time for him to come home, when I almost can feel it coming, it seems like it's even the hardest. Why is that?

Oh well, I wish you a lot of strenght for the last couple of days ;-) And you did great, I am sure of that. You're such a great mom.

  24. You did good Gina. How lucky your husband is to have a strong wife and how lucky your boys are to have a wonderful mumma. I hope you guys have enjoyed the weekend together.

  25. haha! We do this every month, as the man is only home one week out of three...and yes, you have succeeded: kids are alive, you are (relatively) sane, and everyones been fed, washed and clothed regularly.

Now, add a couple of pets to the mix and you'll REALLY appreciate why blogs like these get the readership they do (it's our only link to other grown ups sometimes!!!!)...
